The Dark Forsaken

As of now, I am 100xp into 29... I've been here all week, just playing battlegrounds as the highest lvl cap, haha... but when I wrote the beggining of this on monday and saved it, then got super busy the next 2 days, here is what happened:P...

:*( 28 isn't that bad, but I wanted 30... I'm at 28 1/2 right now, but it's cool. ALL I did was grind, and that got old fast. These next few lvls I'm just going to quest and have fun instead of worrying about lvling.

Thats one thing that has been bothering me. Why am I grinding when I've never been to 60? The highest I've been is 55; I haven't seen the entire game or gotten to enjoy everything on my way to 60, so why do I want to fly right by everything just to arrive at the lvl cap?

I can see why people grind so much and just want to get to 60 when they have done everything else at lower lvls and just want a powerful toon, but please, why not just enjoy the task of getting to 60, and have fun with each lvl and what it brings you.

So for a while, I will just be enjoying the game, and when 60 comes, so be it, it will be sweet, but I don't want to miss out on anything cool in between there, like getting smashed by a lvl 50 hunter at lvl 45, only to come back at 55 and see that same person and kill him instead. I don't want to miss something like that because I've just been grinding and grinding till I hit 60:)

on another note, check out my sweet daggers now:P

And last but not least...

and

IMPORTANT UPDATE!! I've been promoted to Private in Angelus Nex also! Yeah baby!! I guess I thought this deserved an *IMPORTANT UPDATE* label, lol ./slaps myself

Ding 27:) 3 more and I will have 30. Don't know if it is going to happen or not, but we will see.

Did a quick run through Shadowfang Keep this morning with some AoD guys, picked up some nice stuff for Shaankalot...

and my most favorite, a new dagger!

I'm super excited about the dagger. It's perfect because it isn't too slow that it takes forever to swing, yet it isn't too fast that the damage output on my Ambush will be low, its perfect! Thanks for the run guys!

Also, AoD_Massive worked some nice blue gloves for me with his leatherworking skill. Thanks bud:)

As of now, I'm half way through 26, so I am making good progress towards my goal 30 before next monday. I should get it if all goes to plan and I get some playing time:)

Here is me trying to grab a picture of *ding 26*

... but it didn't work out so well, haha

Jeez, what a great Turkey Day! Being as I am trying to bulk up some for the upcoming track season and I want more mass to turn into muscle later on so I can get better at the 800 meter, I got to eat a shit load. It's nice having a girlfriend, because I get to eat dinner with my fam, then head over and eat with hers; double the fun! Hope everyone had a good time! :)

Earlier when I was a 24, I tried running through Blackfathom Deeps with AoD_Bashin and some pickup people...

errr, that didn't work well at all. Long story short, we had a crazy hunter who would ALWAYS send in his pet, ALWAYS pull way to many mobs, and NEVER do anything good like setting traps or just plain being smart. That combined with a terrible healer, we promptly left the run. I never like leaving people high and dry in instance runs, but we were going nowhere fast, with 2 wipes and 1 before we even got into the instance, haha.

Ran into a nice 40man raid group hittin up Astrannar, and joined in just in time for alliance to start pushing us back:*( Still got some nice kills in, but I wish I would have been in the raid longer, it fell apart after 50+ alliance started showing, lol

Well, it's back to lvling for me! Don't think I will hit 27 tonight, I'm pretty tired, but I will get as far as I can before hittin the sack.

pffffffff, so close to Senior Sergeant!! Man, thats a bummer:P O well though, even though I stayed a Sergeant, I'm still satisfied. I'm only a 23... so I should be focusing on lvling anyways, and all those kills this week were from PvP, no battlegrounds:)

Couple days away from Thanksgiving, yeah baby! Half day tomorrow, I'm looking forward to getting to 30 this 4 day weekend, so we will see how things go!

Well, I'm off to take AOD_Shinzu through a run at Redridge Mountains for some Human sighting, I think it should be pretty exciting. :O

Monday, November 21, 2005

You crazy GM's you!! Sooo, my name, Shankalot, was deemed not worthy of the RP-PvP server, so I was forced to change it. Sure, I know the word shank was in it, and that is a term used to stab someone, but the name was taken from the word name Camalot and mixed in with a little bit of rogueness, thus producing Shankalot. Well, push came to shove, and I changed me name:(

Meet Shaankalot. Lol! I figured Shaynkalot was pushing it, Shainkalot was looking like I messed up on spelling shank, and Shanekalot looked as though my name was Shane, which it isn't, its Keith:P So, Shaankalot it is. Can't go wrong with that can we?

Well, I only pvp'd today for the short time I got to play. I want a higher rank than Sergeant! Well, we will see how I did tomorrow. Come on baby, don't fail me now honor kills!

Sunday, November 20, 2005

Eh, these last few days have been ok. Lvl'd up to 23 just today...

After getting 22 yesterday, I quickly got my vanish and distract, and man, they have been put to good use already, haha.

I was pretty busy over the weekend actually, so I didn't get as much playing in as I would have liked:*(

On Saturday I did a 4 man (4man after one of our members had to leave about 10 minutes into the instanse) through Wailing Caverns... we ran through it all but the last part where you cleanse the cavern. We were pulling to much aggro and our 19 shaman couldn't keep up, so we called it quits after the second wipe in a row, lol. We had I think 5 wipes the entire time, yet somehow we kept the 4 together, haha.

Today, I took AOD_Shinzu to Westfall (he is a lvl 11 undead rogue) and we were killing defias looking for a Defias Mask for him. Well, as we are killing them, a lvl 19 Hunter, 16 Palidan, and 14 Palidan attack us and kill us. Well, its understandable, we are in their territory after all, so I, being a 22, am like ok, I will go ahead and kill them now for attacking us.

So I rez and head off stealthed for them, and I track down the 14 who is seperated from the group, and I do off with him. Then, I hit up the paly and the hunter and kill the paly pretty quick, and I almost die but I take out the hunter as well.

So I've had my revenge, and I want to get back to looking for a defias mask for Shinzu, and after a quick chat with AOD_Massive, I start to head off for the defias base when I see the hunter rez. Well, I creep up to him and I wave at him, then walk through him, showing him that I'm not going to attack. So I look at him for a second, then I turn and start heading for the defias camp. Next thing I know, he calls his pet, marks me, and starts attacking me. Well I turn back around and run up to him, but stare at him, trying to get him not to attack. Well, he dosn't stop, so I hit him, and am about to kill him when the paly heals him, and 2 vs. 1 I die of course. Well this sets me off real bad, and I decide that I am going kill them for a long while. Well after they kill me a couple more times because of stupid mistakes (lol, err, yeah, thats what I'll call them), I kill them a few times, and Massive shows up in time to get a kill off them too. All this time I'm thinking, why did that hunter not just leave me alone?

Most say that undead rogues are ruthless and just plain killers, but I think that half of them are, and half are just labled that way, and always sought out and killed, forcing them to kill on sight for fear of them themselves being killed. I clearly was not going to attack him again, waving to show that I merely got my revenge for being ganked, and was off to let them be. Was I unjust??

Well, after a while, I hearthed back to xroad where I found out there was going to be a big raid by alliance, so some Angelus Nex got together and we joined in on the defending. Not THAT many alliance showed up, but they gave us a good time... there were a few raid groups, 2 being completely full, so they were taken care of quickly:P
Here are 2 quick pics I took before logging:

Well, I'm about to finish off this fine night with some quick WoW, then I must prepare myself for this coming week. 2 full days of school is going to be hard! Go Thanksgiving! haha

Friday, November 18, 2005

Bummer/YEAHYA! Why the mixed emotions?? Well, some non WoW info, I got a new car. For 2 years I've been driving a '92 Honda Civic... which belonged to my oldest brother, then my second oldest brother, then my sister... then me, lol. Well, the beast is done. After about 4 months of it just randomly not starting, we called it quits and I got a used, '96 Chevy Camaro.

(this is a much better picture, taken after I bought it unlike the last one)

It's pretty sweet. No body damage, not too many mile for the price I got it for(122,000 miles, $4500), plus nice rims and it runs solid. Only prob is, the parents decided that if they were going to get it for me, they were going to have to put up a few regulations... uh oh. Well, on the weekdays for the next week or so, I'm allowed 1 hour of WoW a day, to see if it will help my grades. They say in order for me to keep the car, I need to improve my grades from a B- average to at least a B average (2.7 to a 3.0 GPA). The weekends are all open for playing, but the weekdays will be hard with only 1 hour:*(. O well, looks like my weekends will purely be grinding, for quests take to long and PvP won't get me up the ranks, hehe. Hey, a new car is a new car though!

Seargent Shankalot:) Yup yup, got my first week of honor points in, and I got to rank 3... pretty good considering I didn't pvp much besides some trips to elwyne forest with Massive, and a few battlegrounds:) Got my trinket actually just today. Haven't had to fall back on it yet (my Will of the Forsaken is doing the trick), but I'm sure the 1g 35s will be put to good use soon:)

Shankalot is a lvl 21 now...

so close to distract and vanish! Oh man I can feel it. When 22 dings I'm going straight for the trainer.

Has been a very eventful past couple days... lets start with some grinding in southern Barrens. Got to lvl 20 while killing some Bristlebacks around the Camp T area. LOTS of linen cloth off these guys, geez... my first aid is jumpin right now. Got pretty angry when a Tauren Shamen named Blarney stole a chest right out from under my nose. I saw him killing some people, so I run over and kill them off with him real fast, then I move off in a different direction from him to let him get the kills around where he was first. Well, I see a chest with a Bristleback by it, I look around to see if anyone is by me, and I see Blarney off fighting some dude. Well, ok, I jump over and start attacking the Bristleback, when I see Blarney running towards me. He is heading for the chest, so I type "please dont" all hurried like... then he starts opening it as I'm finishing off the 'back, and I type out "come on, please don't take it" but no, he ninja's my chest that I clearly was working for, and proceeds to run off after I tell him "Hope you feel good about yourself now."

It kinda bugs me how I'm always aware of where people are, and what is theirs for the taking or looting/skinning, yet you get people like this, and it makes you want to throw your morals through the window:/ Well, I let it bother me a little more than it really should have, until this happened...

LMAO! he got what was coming to him... I just stood by as he was slowely drained of life and killed. I gave him a small wave, and was off to Camp T to turn in my loot and log; he had bummed me out, then cheered me back up, all in about 5 minutes. CHEERS to you Blarney where ever you are:P

This morning, me and the Angelus Nex crew hit up Wailing Caverns.

^^Just a snippet of one of the bosses:P

It was nice... got a few nice green drops and closed in on lvl 21, but my good drops were my new off-hand weapon:

and my first piece of the Viper set:

So that was fun. We had one wipe because we aggro'd a good number of mobs, which a pair of them were hiding in some bushes we overlooked, tehe:) After some kind words of truth, we decided we would keep a closer eye on our healer (and rez'r, haha, would have been nice if he hadn't of died first, sorry Smoke!).

An a fun pvp note, me and Massive hit up Redridge Mountains for some pure stealth kills... we roamed around for a while picking off packs of people with our double ambush, then dps dps dps on the others:) It was fun to just scared the daylights out of people, hahaha... here are 2 quick pictures of me and Massive looming in the shadows as I leave you:

Me and Massive takin a quick break from the action, letting things settle down:)

Then us livening things back up, getting ready to take down this hunter:D

Tuesday, November 15, 2005

These have been some FUN last few days. Shankalot has been coming along nicely. Been having a lot of fun with Angelus Nex.

I've been chillin with this guy Massive, another undead rogue, from the guild, and we've been havin a blast. Me at lvl 16, Massive at 14, another rogue from the guild Outcast at lvl 12 decided to hit up Elwyn Forrest to do a little pvp on some alliance. Man, it was interesting. We talked a mage into coming along with us as some bait to draw out the alliance, but we ran into a few problems. First being he thought he knew the best way to get their, and decided to run from the Horde outpost by south of Elwyn straight up along the road. Well, massive shunned that idea from the get go, so as us three were swimming along the coast, we got to chat with our mage as he got killed over and over by beasts on his little journey. It was quite funny as he would not admit he took the wrong way and repeatedly argued his point that it was much faster and safer. Well, after us having no deaths and him having at least 5, we ended up on the coast of Westfall, and he was still running up towards Elwyn.

Us three rogues saw a nice flagged pally right from the getgo, and set out to quickly kill him off. After we killed him, as it turns out, there were about 10 other various alliance around Westfall killing and (mostly) getting killed. After Outcast logged out for I think girlfriend duties, we chimed in and got a few kills in Westfall before heading over to Elwyn. Once in Elwyne, Massive and I had a blast. He would take on a pack of beasts and get his health down, and some lvl 9-12's would start attacking him, flagging themselves. Well, I would come out of stealth and get in the fight, killing them off with Massive, then stealthing back up and running off before more could show up. We did this for a few hours, finally having the place crawling with alliance looking for us. After about 30-40 kills and 4 or 5 deaths, we called it a night and hearthed out, waving as we went.

The next day, Sunday, he caught up to me in lvls, 18, and we decided to pay another visit to Elwyn after the fun night we had last. On our way, we got to talking to a Hordie, and got a nice invite to a raid going to Westfall. Well, we joined up and were greeted with a full raid group! NICE! So Me, Massive, a horde warrior and a horde warlock took the same route on the "blimp" as I like to call them, to Strag Vale, then up the coast to Westfall. We got just off the coast at the Light House and startted calling our Horde in. Cast after cast, we started to grow. Our warlock was summoning more warlocks, who summoned more warlocks, who summoned more Horde. After we assembled our 40 men, me and Massive took off for the hills to see what the Alliance were up to. After mixing it up with some Deadmines groups, we had a good number of them flagged, and our raid started making its way in mass into the heart of Westfall.

We battled for a while, holding our own, when all of a sudden, about 100 alliance swept into the area. After about 10 minutes of us dominating, the tide had turned, and they started owning us, even gracing us with the presence of a lvl 50 human pally, mounted and all (mind you this is 4 or 5 days into the new realm).

After some time getting stomped in Westfall, Massive and I headed back out for Elwyn, and did some dirty work on the alliance there. We managed to get ourselves killed a few time, and made some nice enemies long the way, including a 21 druid that we (excuse me) pwned (yes, I said it, PWNED) into the ground after he got the jump on us once. After we killed him once, I was looking for others to kill, when I turned around he and he spawned running right for me, so I promptly sapped him and kept him busy til Massive made his way over and finished him off with me.

The rest of sunday was spent in the Battlegrounds with Angelus Nex and various members at times. Oh, and I started a new alt char that I can lvl when he gets rest xp, and so that I can have him be my miner/enchant/disenchanter/bank char. He is currently a lvl 13 Orc Hunter, and he is ok to play with... but nothing compared to Shank:P I hope I get time to play this next week, things are going awesome so far.

Boy oh boy, this last day has been crazy!

So, I head out into Brill at about 11pm Thursday night, and you know what I decided? It's Vets day tomorrow... 3 day weekend... WoW time baby:)

So I take off into the night, nothin to do but dig my heels in and start killing away some xp. Well, after 5 minutes of killing the 6-7's around Brill, I figure I need to get out of this place. Sure, it's fun picken on the Humans and all over at the tower across from the Undercity, but hey, they just aren't cutting it. In no time, I'm on my way to Ogrimmar, the Capital city. Well, I show up, and its just what I needed. All around Durotar are the lvls I need. After a quick visit to the rogue trainer in Org and a fast purchase of a dagger to get my duel wielding under way, I'm diggin into the beasts around the area. I manage to get some dings off these guys after what seemed like a long long while, and after some interesting chat over the general channel, I work my way to 16 and am heading back to Org lookin to get some new talents and maybe grab a new weapon. Well, I'm at the rogue trainer when I here a little call for a Ragefire Chasim run. Now, I have never really gotten into instancing before... frankly I just don't have the the time to sit down for a couple hours uninterupted and do the things, but it was earlier in the morning now, I wasn't going to get any inturuptions, so what the heck.

The runs end up going pretty well. I'm in a party with 4 members of Angelus Nex, and they are pretty cool people. Easy going, great communication, and very fair when it came to looting. After some time, the group decides to call it quits, and I figure, "Hey, it's a new server, and I'm prob not going to come across cool people like this often," so I gave a shoutout to Uplift and asked if I could join the guild. He seemed pretty open with the idea, and filled me in on the requirements I needed to get in. I expected some, and I was glad when I heard they had some, which showed some organization, but man, did I underestimate them. Turns out Angelus Nex is latin for Angels of Death (the name had been taken on the server already) and they are actually a HUGE guild spanning multiple games. Whats even cooler, is that everything is tight nit in the guild, even people from the other games. Everyone is connected through Ventrilo, so there is always someone to talk to there (I don't think I see less than 40 people on there at a time), and their website is a very well organized Forum based site, keeping everyong in touch.

Well, I quickly sign up on the website for the forums, following the name guildlines and such, a quick d-load later of Ventrilo and I recieved my invite ove WoW. Lucky me I bought a headset a month or so ago in case I ever decided to get into Teamspeak or Ventrilo.

Being new to the server, they had about 20 members when I joined up, some being alts of course, but the nice thing was that these 20 members weren't just random people picked up off WoW in the first few days. They were all their for a reason. They had came along from another server (and from other games and sections of the guild) to start something new and revamp their World of Warcraft section of the guild.

Well, I'm now a recuit with them, and it seems really awesome in the guild so far, so I hope everything works out well for us as we continue this journey through Lightninghoof.

Heres a quick pic from inside Ragefire Chasim with Angelus Nex.

Thursday, November 10, 2005

Well, I'm sitting here, just getting back from school and the YMCA, and what do you know it, *new realms*! Hmmmm, well, I am feeling like a fresh start, so here I go.

I've decided to choose the realm Lightninghoof. One, because it is a RP-PvP server. RP has always interested me because it sounds pretty cool to go in depth with your character and really get into it, I mean, isn't that what RPG games are all about: getting into character? I figure, if I'm going to spend days out of this short life of mine playing a game, why do it half-ass? So here is my new beggining. Two, because of the PvP aspect of it. When I came to WoW back in March of 2005, I really didn't know what PvP and Normal meant, so I just clicked on the first one I took an intrest to (Skywall) and started playing. Normal was fun because I didn't have to worry about getting killed wherever I went unless I really wanted to, but I again don't see the point of playing a MMORPG if your not going to play it to the full. To have 2 factions deathly against eachother, but not be able to attack eachother? No no no, PvP is what I want to do.

I am currently a 10 Undead Rogue. I have at least started a new toon on every race, so I knew the jist of where to go, but I have always played Alliance, so most this is new to me. Right off the bat, I start turning out quests and xp. 10 minutes later, I ding up lvl 4, which I'm pretty sure is the fastest I've done it before. I usually just ding up a few lvls to check out what is around the starting area, then return to my main 48 Rogue to screw off and not return to the new alt again. But this time, I actually was intrested in lvling up, because it is my new main and I want to get into the PvP asap:) After dinging 2 more lvls, I am on my way to Brill to go visit some dude who sent me a letter. On my way over there, I ding to 7 after taking a little detour and visiting some humans. I must admit, the humans look pretty stupid. For some reason, they decide that quality is better than quanity, and have a HUGE field with only a mere 10-15 HUGE pumpkins. I chuckle to myself, and after confiscating them, I head back on my way to turn in the small quest and visit Brill.

I'm not really feeling questing right now, so I head over some hills and start hitting up some beasts. Ding, ding, ding, lvl 10 came pretty easy. Took about 2 hours, but its a start. Hopefully this weekend I will get some good lvling in. I'm hoping to hit 18 before monday... maybe get in some PvP, eh, maybe even join a guild. But I won't rush it, I'm just going to enjoy the new toon, and see what happens.
